The Way the Wind Blows

News and updates from the trenches of independent production in Ottawa.

You’ll have noted that little Paypal button in the sidebar. You probably came to this page to see what it was all about. Basically, it’s time to upgrade our post-production abilities. Most of our post-production operations are currently reliant on access to other people’s equipment. This makes us dependent on a lot of other schedules. What we’re looking to do is to get a start on upgrading our own post-production facilities and so greatly improve our ability to get work done quicker. Much quicker.

The thought is that if you like what you read in the blog or the work we do, you might be willing to throw in a few dollars. Maybe you’re interested in supporting local production here in Ottawa (or even Canada). Maybe you’re really looking forward to Untamed Lands or Legend of Oz and want to see them completed as quickly as possible. Or maybe you just skipped that morning coffee today and have a few coins to spare.

If you enjoy the stories, the updates, or the behind the scenes fun, give the button a click. Call it a pay-what-you-like (including nothing) service. You don’t need a Paypal account to donate and the transaction is secure.

iMac Photo

We’re looking at this 24-inch iMac which Apple’s online store lists at $2,659 (with upgraded video card).

On top of that, we’re going to donate 10% that cost, plus any surplus, to CHEO. So not only will your donations support Valley Wind Productions and local production in Ottawa, but it will also help out the Children’s Hospital or Eastern Ontario; folks who really deserve the donations.

So roughly, the total we’re looking at raising is $3,000. Or about 1,000 cups of coffee.
